One of five definitive stamps issued for the 2012 stamping season (like hunting season except you go after stamps! ), the series called Canadian Pride, all with a Canada Flag shown somewhere, is the Bobsled stamp.

I just noticed this (1 hour to go) on ebay. Advertised as 'Canada 2012 Canadian Pride Bobsledder Leuders missing color + original' by NorthAmericanStamp http://www.ebay.com/itm/Canada-2012...em58944449f0 .

Picture from the auction:

It's more of a variation on colour or ink perhaps than a colour missing, but that could just bs advertising and grabbing the buyer's attention.

I have a booklet of these stamps myself (with the VW camper van on the back) and looking at the bobsled it seems blue-ish enough to me but when scanned it looks kind of grey-ish.

I know my scanner could be off, my monitor could be off, I could be off (we won't go into that right now!). Lots of reasons for seeing colours in a certain way.

My booklet:

Zoomed in:

So . . .
What could change the colour of those used stamps in the auction? Just the greyish-blue?

Does anyone have any of these stamps and noticed any colour differences / changes at all themselves?

The auction is up to $6.50 now, 45 minutes to go.

This booklet was due to be reprinted - Canada Post made an error on the original printing, misspelling Pierre Lueders' name (the guy driving the bobsleigh). I've read somewhere that they were going to reprint it with his name spelled correctly. Perhaps there's a colour difference between the two printings?

You are correct that a reprint has/will come with the correct spelling.

Unfortunately it's in microprinting on the right side of the sled on the stamp and can't be seen on either of the grey or blue stamps from ebay.

Yes, that's him. I suppose that this stamp fits in with the discussion of "living people on stamps" ...
