Hi kinetic2012

The best that I can determine is that Ayacucho stamps were a provisonal issue. Therefore, they are not listed in any of the catalogs I have. You probably need a specialized Peruvian catalog to get a value.

Since you are in Lima check with a local dealer or stamp club.

Chilean occupation of Peru I believe. Not sure what catalog has it listed though.

Aren't the dates too early for that?

The War of the Pacific was 1879 -1883.

*Edit*

Just noticed the 1872 - 1873 dates and now get your point Nigel. Forgot that I can increase the image size in Firefox with the + key.

Then I would have to guess a Moquegua Province revenue.

Hi kinetic2012,

Could you tell us please what it says on the original yellow stamps? It would be helpful to know if it refers to taxation or postal services ("correos") or something else.

A larger scan of one of the individual stamps would help immensely.

The correct term is one that describes an item exactly.

You have a Block of Fifteen and a Block of Eight.
It looks better when you write the word out instead of using numerals.

They are Not plate blocks because there is no selvage attached (usually on a corner) with a plate number printed on the selvage (margin).

A fair value would be what someone wants to pay for them really. Cayalogue value, you would need a revenue stamp catalogue (not just a stamp catalogue) for Peru, or get an idea from an online dealer in these, or ebay perhaps, or Delcampe. This is because revenue catalogues are not as common as regular stamp catalohues.
