On October 12, 1989 the Federal Republic of Germany issued a three-stamp, semi-postal set of stamps depicting historical methods of mail carrying. The 100 + 50 pf value (Mi #1439) shows a Bavarian mail coach, circa 1900.  |

Here is Germany's September 4, 2008, 55c stamp (Mi #2692) for Stamp Day. The theme of the stamp is "Treasures of Philately", and it features an 1835 painting of a mail coach. Michel says, "(Illustration shows) integration of the Thuringian town of Ohrdruf into the express coach system of 'fast post': arrival of the first coach."   |
