Mac, Don't you think he's getting a little dizzy by now? Love It! Some old favorites and some new favorites. My Old Fav 5 Scott #2 Scott #1 Scott #10a Scott C14 Scott C2 First Flight Cover My New Fav 5 Scott #24 Curl Over "E" Scott #24 Long Double Curl Scott #24 Plate Fault Scott #24 LL Scratches Scott #24 Cover (Pair & Single) And yes, I have been focusing on the 1 cent Franklin lately. I have several dozen of these little gems waiting on time to be plated. I have been going mainly after Scott #24 due to the expense of the others. That's not to say I won't pick up one now and then. Money and time, isn't that the problem for nearly all of us? Art |

Good choices Robert. I collect Crete and I particularly like the Souda stamp. I think it provided a great end to the stamps of the autonomous Crete state. Nice job by the engraver at Bradbury Wilkinson! |

Thanks, nigelc. For some reason, a number of my favorites are blue and engraved. Another favorite of mine is an engraved, blue stamp from Norway. Cheers, Robert |

I don't know if they are my absolute favorites, but I am proud of the Page 1 in my album, with a US 1 mounted next to a GB 1 (Penny Black) and GB 2 (Penny Red).
I know the GBs shouldn't really be on that page, and that I only collect US, but there is something to be said for every collector, no matter if they collect WW or not, having a GB 1 in their collection, purely as a tribute to it being the first postage stamp.
I am also going to arrange my Page 1 to accept one of my stampless covers, placed over the area designated for the 1 & 2 Reprints, because I don't ever intend to seek those 2 out or collect them. Page 1 will become essentially a tribute to the transition of mail from it's early roots, to modern with the introduction of stamps. So the stampless is to represent the early, GB 1 to represent the milestone transition, and the US 1 (and eventually 2) to tie it all into my US collection. I think it will turn out nice. |
