Hi:
Does anyone know the origins of this poster stamp, if there were others in the series, and when it was issued? Design size is 43 x 62 mm. Thanks!

Nice one Rod. Definitely from the same series, with the boxed PPP signature.

Yes, style of poster stamp not recognised by me,
If I had to guess, from design I would have said German,
but the PPP discounts that.
When did the circled "c" copyright begin to appear on stamps?
quite late I should think.

This one is $9 on ebay

The stamp you show has two issues for sale ebay
1 in Russia, 1 in california.

Same series?
the text font seems to differ between the two.

Same producer, but perhaps differing series?

And there's an Indian cavalryman (more like the Canadian issue):

Here are some all from the same ebay seller. Looks like a lot of variety in frame and font styles, but most likely all from the same series.

Another one. General Paul Pau was a French general who commanded a French army for 2 months at the onset of WWI, possibly dating the series to 1914.

Nice ones Drew,

I wonder if these could be by Gaston Fontanille ?

CindyCan, I would send an email to Roger and Bonnie Riga,
they will probably know.

Not sure about Gaston Fontanille - I went through a number of pages on the following site http://vignettesdelandre.free.fr/ and didn't find any.

Well, there's an email contact for further info perhaps,
I notice he lists a few "Non Delandre" under Cavalry.
