Yes, the Roo is a color error. Someone stuck it in a stockbook and made the error of leaving that page in the stockbook exposed to the sun, bleaching the exposed portions of the stamp.

Looks like you have a nice block of 4
"dark blue arms" of KG6

Super, but with a typical Gross UK splodge Ugh!

A nice clear crisp up-close scan,
and I'll try and ID all / if any varieyties .......
Has to be a cracker scan however.

PS KG6 sideface by French Engraver Edmund Dulac (swoon)
fantastic work by him.

Hi to all

Talking of Mr Edmund Dulac, early books illustrated by him are also valuable.
Thought I might add an illustration of one of Poe's works by him.
Sadly Dulac died suddenly at the age of 71.
His most famous illustrated work is the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyham

I used to have a modern printing of Dulac's Khayam. It was stunning.
Sadly it went in a book clearout a number of years ago, in favour of an older edition by a different artist (also beautiful). After all how many Omar Khayams does one need?
Mr Dulac saw quite a resurgence in his later career designing stamps and currency.

Hi Jamesw

I know some-one who has 750 different editions and printings of the Rubiyat of Omar Khayyam and most of them are rare and valuable works.
I have about seven different old copies.
