I'm not sure what has gone on to prompt this but I think your price point is a bit high, especially given you have banner ads all over the site.
I will support the site, but I offer the following comparison:
My annual membership of my local philatelic society is $15. I have access to a phneomenal library in that price.
Another well known stamp forum provides far better quality philatelic discussion, even if it run by a tyrant for no fee (membership or sales).
A car enthusiast forum that I contribute to leaves the amount up to the individual.

64idgaf.. before the admins or anyone else says anything, I think you should edit your post. It is offensive. there are many levels of being a site supporter. even from month to month. as for price point, have you ever run a forum like this? I have, it is not cheap, and banner ads ONLY work if someone does a click through. as far as the "OTHER SITE", his name calling and exacerbating and heavy handedness is enough for anyone.
Now you only need to be a supporter if you want to sell, you can buy all you want.
Your final comment was unworthy of you. |

You need to be a supporter to post a want, too. |

If you could post a want without being a member, that would be a huge plus. By asking for stamps, you're not making any money, the way a seller is. Just something fo the admin to think about.
Still the best stamp boards out there! |

i am not a dealer..if I were..i would cough up the $45...i have been selling low end (dollar and 2 dollar) packets and covers to the membership..in turn I would take the paypal funds sent to me by the members and buy stamps and covers for my collection...45 dollars would wipe out any benefits I would gain by selling !! |

I don't have auctions all that often, but I do like the fact one can advertise their auctions on this site. There's not many places where you can do so for so little with such a wide reach. I can understand the "pain" of the price as I've been experiencing chronic unemployment/underemployment (if you have a child or grandchild who wants to go into Anthropolgy or many of the other social sciences/liberal arts, please tell them to find a new major and they'll thank you in the long run, but enough of the derail). Sometimes the auctions are the only way I can make ends meet and any "profits" are using funneled into buying new material (with luck, better material). When I have Ebay/Delcampe auctions of new material ready I'll pay the supporter fee, but probably only on a month to month basis until the day I decide to go full-time with this. Will |

No one needs to cough up $45. If the supporter badge is on your account you can start a topic. When you get a few things to sell, you can donate $5 for a month and list them. |

anyone can pay a month at a time... every little bit helps pay for the forum. |

I think the wanted and trades forums should not need site supporter status. |

I agree with alanl. I have so much material that I need to get rid of, I can't get hy hands around how to dispose of it all. I have no intentsion of selling, I will trade or give it away. I realise there are expenses involved in operating a blog or website, and I suppose it depends on the reason for your website. I don't feel that links to ebay or other sales should be allowed. If you want to sell on this site than only site members should be allowed to bid. Mike |

I, for one, am guilty of driving my posts to 50 with the sole intention of selling...and I spoke about it while I was doing it, but, I have learned so much and felt so guilty even thinking about doing it, that I never have. At the time, I think there was discussion oabout raising the posts to 100 or200 but I guess that never happened. I find it interesting to see the collectors, expertizers, and dealer's that I have never met nor done business with on the other sites lower themselves to spew such rubbish and animosity towards those that disagree with them or worse, carry on their obviously long term boyhood vendettas with their competition. I have stopped thinking about selling and spend an enormous amount of time researching what I don't know and learn. I could use the money, but never felt that this site was intended for that...until now! So I plan to send some money, get a new thingie on my name over <<<< and start selling. thanks...David |

I'm a new member and have asked for advice, which was generously given to me. To show my gratitude, I became a supporter. I would feel like a thief if I hadn't. |
