Thanks. I am curious why you did not put the singles at the top and have a more pyramid layout. Mystic had tried to stay in catalog order.

I am still in my planning phases for redoing my definitive Mystic layouts since I want to include minor listing including tagging/year date varieties.

The first 2 se-tenants are the same size. So I think they look better side by side. The Scribus file is there. Feel free to install Scribus (it's free) and move stuff around.

Getting back in the swing of things here.

Mystic Heirloom 475 Hack has been completed.

The 1892-1893 se-tenant pair is back together again, as it should be.

I do want to thank you for doing this because it gave me the incentive to do my own Mystic Page variants. By providing the Scibus source files it makes it easy. Scribus was pretty easy to pick up and latest versions make the alignment/distribution of elements so easy.

I noticed last night that the margins on the page are off by 3mm. They need to be moved over to the right by 3 mm on the front page. The back page is fine. I think this is only a problem on the last 2-3 hacks I have issued.

It's not something blatantly obvious, so I don't think I am going to clean anything up. I think I am just going to adjust going forward.

Just something for you to consider going forward. If you'd like, I'll be happy to make a blank with corrected master pages and post it.

Yes, if I recall I had changed the margins on your template when I started doing my own since they did not match my pages.
Then I decided for later pages it really was not as important so made the outline border closer to the edges to reduce some larger stuff from overlapping. I have been intermixing my format into Mystic. I have subject above stamp box and have the scott number and optional details (like perf if unique, etc) inside the box below stamp. They blend in well.

Wait till you look at 2000+. I'm just making pages from scratch for those years. The USPS issued SO MANY se-tenants and Mystic broke them all up, or made strips instead of blocks of 4. I tried to do some pages for one of those years, and I ended up needing to redo more than half of the supplement. It was less work to make my own.

I have actually been paralleling what you did. I usually am add minor varieties or keep setenants together like you in mostly post 2000 area but I have been adding pages in prior years for various varieties (like the early tagged US minors in the 60's).

Mystic has been trying to maintain Scott catalogue order on pages (started when they started adding numbers to page) but I want to keep some varieties (definitive sets like Flag over City, Lady Liberty, etc) together when not all in one catalogue sequence.

I still have to do the PNCs and other definitive series since I have to decide what varieties to collect (mostly gum variations). I always want to do tagging differences.

It has always kind of bothered me that a lot of stamp albums make you collect souvenir sheets from stamp expos in the 30s and 40s as a whole sheet (rather than just the imperf), but for more modern souvenir sheets, they expect you to collect just the stamps.

Mystic's page 779 has the stamps from the Pacific 97 Souvenir Sheet as individual stamps. I previously hacked the page to keep the two triangle stamps together as a se-tenant. But the more I thought about it, the more I wanted the whole sheet, with the selvage showing Pacific 97 and the date it was held.

So, I went a little nuts this afternoon. I made a page 779a and 780a, which had the whole Pacific 97 sheet. Page 779b and 780b contains the other 3 stamps that were page 779 originally.

Once I finished this, I realized I need to modify pages 777-778 so that the right description was facing 779. So this hack revisits the hack for pages 777 and 779, providing a total of 3 pages.

If you're just going to keep the se-tenant pair of 3130-3131, then use my previous hacks for pages 777 and 779 to keep all se-tenants together.

If you agree with me and want the whole Pacific 97 sheet intact, then use this hack.

Right now, I only have a PDF, because the links to the stamp images are a mess. Soon as I get those cleaned up, I'll post the Scribus files.

Here's what I did to split page 779:

And the hacking continues. Page 865 has been hacked to group the booklet se-tenants together.
