The wife went jewelry shopping at the antique stores so I went along and hit the postcard boxes. Thought I would share a few philatelic(ly) insignificant but interesting items I picked up.

1.Postcard from Germany with nicely centered #55 and neatly postmarked August 10, 1909 (date written in text also with month as roman numeral.) What gorgeous handwriting!

2. Card to Paris, Missouri "MISSENT" to Paris, Illinois. At least it didn't go to France - but there is another postmark to Bolivia, (Illinois)!

3.Postcard with a bright picture of the Ford Pavilion at the Chicago Century of Progress. Card is postmarked in Chicago, September 15, 1934 and includes a Century of Progress stamp.

4. French postcard was never used but fortunately the translation is on the card - "American Independence Day in Paris, July 4th 1918 (4th Year of the War.) Lest we forget . .

5. I hope the statute of limitations will save me!

Hope you enjoyed the show!
