Anyone know which country this stamp is from? I was thinking maybe from an Indian state but that is as far as I got.
Any help appreciated!

This is From Mostly NEPAL. I have no knowledge about Genuine or fake.
On the top written in DOGRI (similar alphabets Devnagri) language GORKHA. Bottom ADHANA
for Denomination means Half Anna.
Do not know Dogri it is written as ADHANA. But in Most of India
Devnagri and Hindi it is written as Adha Ana, means Half Anna.

It is indeed a ½ Anna stamp from Nepal. It looks genuine, but it is a very common stamp and has minimal value. The cancellation is part of the large and ornate telegraph cancellation. These are much more common on these ½ Anna stamps than actual postal cancellations. You could once (and maybe still can) buy whole sheets of the ½ Anna with telegraph cancels.
