I was sorting through a bunch of #167 when I found this one.
I've never seen something like that before.
Anyone have an idea on the cause of the red line?
It's not a coil, so... ??

It the line wasn't so uneven, I might think that its a guide line for the printer.

it's a guide line used in separating the panes from the sheet. It just ended up on the selvage.

I know it's not even in fine condition so basically, it has no value to speak of, but just out of curiosity

It is a guide-line.

As far as value is concerned, it may or may not increase. If it does increase, it will be very minimal because there are so many of these available. Being a definitive stamp, the normal one has a CV of 20 cents and even with the guide-line, it 'might' jump to 25 or 30 cents. Mint would be a little more again.
