Daniel Libeskind (1946 - ) is a Polish-American architect, artist, professor and set designer. His work included numerous public buildings as well as residential projects. His buildings include the Jewish Museum (Berlin), the extension to the Denver Art Museum (Denver), the Grand Canal Theater (Dublin), the Imperial War Museum North (Manchester), and the Danish Jewish Museum (Copenhagen). His Imperial War Museum North is included in the Royal Mail Landmark Buildings series issued on July 13, 2017.  |

Francine Marie Jeanne Houben (1955 - ) is a Dutch architect. Her work includes projects such as universities, libraries, theaters, residential areas, museums and hotels. She was named as the Architects' Journal 2014 Woman Architect of the Year. Her projects include Delft University of Technology Library, Nelson Mandela Park in Bijlmermeer, Kaap Skil Maritime and Beachcombers Museum, The Library of Birmingham, FiftyTwoDegrees, and Montevideo Residential Tower. The Library of Birmingham is included in the Royal Mail Landmark Buildings series issued on July 13, 2017.  |

Ernest Cormier (1885 – 1980) was a Canadian engineer and architect who spent much of his career in the Montreal area. He is well known for his Art Deco architecture. His major works include Main building of the Université de Montréal, Supreme Court of Canada building, St. John the Baptist Church of Pawtucket, and Église Saint-Ambroise. Maison Cormier, the residence of the architect, is featured in the Art Deco stamp set issued on June 9, 2011.  |

The architectural studio of Luis M. Mansilla (1959 - 2012) and Emilio Tuñón (1959 - ) is responsible for a number of new 21st century Spanish architecture. Its projects include: Pedro Barrié de la Maza Foundation in Vigo (2005), Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León (2004), Auditorium of León (2003), Madrid Regional Documentary Centre (2002) Fine Arts Museum of Castellón (2000), Indoor Swimming-Pool in San Fernando de Henares (1998), Archeological and Fine Arts Provincial Museum of Zamora (1996). The stamp shown here was issued on October 11, 2012.  |

Carlos Ott (1946 - ) is a Uruguayan architect who gained international recognition when he won his first prize in 1983 for the construction of the Opéra de la Bastille in Paris. His projects include Ushuaia – Malvinas Argentinas International Airport, National Bank of Dubai, Libertad Plaza Buenos Aires, Torre Antel Montevideo, Calgary Courts Centre, Universidad Argentina de la Empresa, among others. His Torre Antel is featured in a stamp issued on December 28, 2007.  |

Their work includes Prada Aoyama (Tokyo), IKMZ University Library (Cottbus), Walker Art Center expansion (Minneapolis), BBVA headquarters (Madrid), Beijing National Stadium (Beijing), Museum der Kulturen (Basel), Switch House Tate Modern (London), Elbe Philharmonic Hall (Hamburg), among others. The Switch House Tate Modern, a modern art gallery, was featured in the Landmark Buildings series issued by the Royal Mail on July 13, 2017.  |

Their projects include City Hall of San Fernando de Henares, Chapel in Valleacerón, Museu d'Art Contemporani d'Alacant, Centro Civico Anabel Segura, Alcobendas, among others. Their Chapel of Valleacerón was featured in a modern architecture stamp series issue on April 26, 2007.  |

Josef Hoffmann (1870 – 1956) was an Austrian architect and designer of consumer goods. His work was important in the early development of modern architecture in Europe. His projects include Purkersdorf Sanatorium (1903, Stoclet House (1905), Ast Residence (1911), House for Sigmund Berl (1919), and Villa for Fritz Grohmann in Vrbno pod Pradedem (1921). His Stoclet House was featured in a stamp set issued in 1965.  |

Naoum Shebib (1915 – 1985), of Lebanese origin, is considered one of the leading Egyptian architects and the precursor of modern architecture in Egypt. He was also a structural engineer and entrepreneur. His most famous work is undoubtedly the Cairo Tower, which is the tallest structure in Egypt, rising 187 meters. His other notable projects include Ali Baba Movie Theater (Cairo), Saint Thérèse Church (Port Said), Saint Catherine's Church (Heliopolis), Thabet-Thabet Building (Cairo), and Al-Ahram Building (Cairo). The Egyptian post service issued two stamps on April 11, 2011 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Cairo Tower.  |

Sir Denys Louis Lasdun (1914 – 2001) was an eminent English architect. His best known work is the Royal National Theatre on London's South Bank of the Thames, which is one of the most notable examples of Brutalist design in the United Kingdom. His other projects include Keeling House, Institute of Education, The Royal College of Physicians, New Court of Christ's College, and IBM Building on South Bank. His National Thertre was featured in the European Architectural Heritage Year set issued on April 23, 1975.  |

Marta Stana (1913 - 1972) was a Latvian architect of modernism. His best known work is the Daile theatre building, which is part of the Latvian cultural canon. His other work includes residential buildings, family mansions, cottages, and summerhouses. Daile Theatre is featured in a stamp issued on February 15, 2013.  |

Heinz Tesar (1939 - ) is an Austrian architect who has an international reputation for his church and museum architecture. He also has taught at various universities in Europe and America since 1980. His notable buildings include Unternberg Parish church, Administration building Schömer, Keltenmuseum in Hallein, Evangelical Church, among others. His Essl Collection Museum is featured in a stamp issued on July 1, 2007.  |

Gottfried Semper (1803 – 1879) was a German architect, art critic, and professor of architecture. He designed and built the Semper Opera House in Dresden between 1838 and 1841. His other work includes Oppenheim Palace and Semper Gallery in Dresden, City Hall, Polytechnical School and Observatory in Zurich, and Municipal Theater and Museum of Art and History in Vienna. A stamp issued on November 13, 2003 features his Semper Opera House.  |
