The 1954 FIBA World Championship (also called the 2nd World Basketball Championship ˇV 1954) was an international basketball tournament held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from October 23 to November 5, 1954. Twelve nations participated in the tournament.

The 2005 FIBA European Championship, commonly called FIBA EuroBasket 2005, was held in Serbia and Montenegro between September 16 and 25. Sixteen national teams entered the event. Greece won its second FIBA European title by defeating Germany with a 78ˇV62 score in the final.

The 2006 FIBA World Championship was an international basketball competition hosted by Japan from August 19 to September 3, 2006. A total of 24 teams participated in the competition. Spain, Greece, and the United States won the gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively.

European Championship for Juniors is a youth men's basketball competition that was inaugurated in 1964. It was held biannually until 2002. From 2004 onward, it is held every year. The 1988 Championship was held in Yugoslavia.
