Just two binders to house my Finland and Åland collection, but probably I need to buy third binder.

#1 Finland 1856 - 1997
#2 Finland 1998 - 2009 + Åland 1984 - 2009

Some stockbooks in various sizes.

Let's see...

US (mint/used to 1960) - 2 (but need to expand)
Canada (mint/used to 1960) - 1 (but need to expand)
United Nations - 1
Covers - 1 (but need to expand DESPERATELY!)
Misc. (just because I like them) - 1
Cheques (Checks) - 1 (but need to refine)

So 7 in total with the need for growth.

Covers, expand, desparately?

Now, that wouldn't be for those advertising covers I got you hooked on would it?

You're not alone though, my album covers are expanding too.

bujutsu, will happily give you some of the blame/credit.

But I think it's time to let that go. You've got to move on with your life (and besides, there's always the next auction!)

1 - Harris Liberty album for the usual used/mint issues
2 - 3-ring binder for US revenues and other BOB issues
3 - 3-ring binder for older worldwide engraved issues
4 - 3-ring binder for modern worldwide issues

So that is 4 total. Not much compared to some folks around here! ;-)

** EDIT - forgot about covers:

5 - 3-ring binder for foreign covers
6 - 3-ring binder for US covers
7 - 3-ring binder for hotel covers

I only have two 3-ring binders to house my modest 5,500 worldwide used so far. However, here is a quick back-of-the-envelope calculation looking forward. I use Vario 7S sheets and get about 37 stamps per side. I am shooting for a 100,000 collection so arithmetic tells me I get 37 x 2 x 50 = 3,700 stamps per binder (assuming 50 sheets per 2.5inch binder.
This comes out to 27 binders for the 100,000 collection which will take up about 6 feet of shelf space. Not too bad, I say..
Incidentally this will cost around $750.00 just for the Varios! (Probably worth more than the stamps!)

Well, to answer this question, I just inventoried my 3 book shelves and counted a total of 96 binders!
5 - Mystic Heirloom for U.S. used (had purchased 2 volume some years ago and recently purchased the new 3 volume)
8 - U.S. mint - White Ace and my own album sheets
1 - Hawaii
2 - Canada
4 - G&K oversize full sheet
3 - Checks or cheques - take you pick
2 - Cash/Telephone cards
18 - First Flight Covers
1 each for New Zealand, Australia, Japan
20 - covers and envelopes and post cards
12 - Vario and Manila stock sheets
14 - Genealogy stuff
leaving 4 which I have no idea what is in them
plus boxes and boxes of loose envelopes

I guess you can consider it a testimony to the amount of time you've invested in collecting. Perhaps the amount of money spent. It also speaks to how many countries from which you collect.

When I obtain covers, I place each in an archival sleeve and insert into binder for later review and decision as to whether or not to keep it. So for me, it is more of a testimony as to how far behind I am in reviewing what I have.

Of course I won't do it..but lately I have been thinking of chucking everything ...starting afresh with a focused collection !! That would be a 360 degree turn for me after many years of not wanting to "let go " !

Here is my count:

7 Davo Hingeless Albums for US
18 64 page stockbooks for my reorganized WW collection
2 Minkus WW albums & 3 large binders with stamps that I have not moved to stockbooks yet
13 large binders with Steiner pages for Germany, Australia, GB, Scandinavia & Japan
3 small stockbooks for topicals

That makes 46 for me! The number of stockbooks will grow as I reorganize my WW collection. Right now I am up to the "N"s and it has taken me over a year to get to this point!
