I located a Lebanon Scott 144 in my collection. I wasn't quite sure of the
identification because my wonderful Scott catalog only says, "Type A8
Redrawn. Arabic inscriptions more condensed." I confirmed the stamp
by locating an earlier SCF thread that showed a Lebanon 144, but my
question is, If Scott knows that the Arabic inscriptions are more
condensed, why don't they show a closeup explaining this?

So, another question pertains to the date of issue of this stamp. My catalog
has the strange, 1935 (?). I believe this means that the actual date
of issue is not well documented and a best guess is 1935. It is
difficult to tell on my stamp, but I believe it is cancelled 1937. (Can
someone verify from my scan?)

Lastly, I also have a Lebanon Scott 69 (not shown). It clearly has
a Perfin A.P.C. What is interesting is that I used to work at a
company called APC. My question is does anyone know what A.P.C. may
stand for?

Thanks as always.

Detail :

Perhaps an easier ID

Confirm Beirut/Beyrouth used roman numerals for month,
so my guess is 9th August 1937
1937 as you suggested.

Thanks to everyone for the information. I was looking at the inscription in the circle on the right and did not even look at the top inscription. Loos like there are several ways to correctly ID this stamp.
