I just soaked one of the Grey Cup stamps..the paper seems very thin..almost like when you soak a U.S. self adhesive...is Canada Post going to thinner paper ??

It is a series of stamps Canada Post issued commemorating football, I think. There were discussions about it before, but I am too lazy to search for them and find the links.

Here is a picture of the souvenir sheet. They also issued it in coils and sheets (I'm sure I'm missing something... But I can't remember what)

I see, commissioned 1909 by Earl Grey.
I sometimes have a cup of Earl Grey in the afternoon. :)
Nice Stamp.

The ones Phil is discussing, no doubt will be the
self stick.
Aussie self stick are very thin after soaking.

I have the mint souvenir sheets for this issue and they don't have any thins.

Canada sources their paper from multiple locations around the world. It is possible that you got a stamp from a bad batch? (only a guess)
