Not sure if this has been posted before. I did a search but couldn't find anything.

Anyway I have just started reorganizing my entire stamp collection and started with my Canada collection.

Canada Post released stamps for various series over an extended number of years such as the Lunar New Year or Art Canada stamps. In the Unitrade catalogue they are listed as Lunar New Year - 2 or Art Canada - 5 etc.

Do you as a collector keep the series together as a set? such as organizing the entire Lunar New Year or do you keep them separate and the set would only be the stamps that were issued as part of that year's issue?

Hopefully my question is clear...I can try to clarify if you don't understand.

For me personally, I do my albums by the year in order.

That's a very good question,
perhaps you have to follow the guidance from the catalogue you employ.
With Stanley Gibbons, some sets/series span 10 years
so it creates headaches.
On the album page sets look better I think as a spanned set.

With my digital album I have to actually put in incorrect issue dates
if I want the set to come up complete as a sub set search.
(or search by "type")

Perhaps arrange the set on the page with issue dates in brackets underneath?

I create my own album pages and place all new issue commemorative and definitive stamps in "Date of Issue" order regardless of the series or type or face value.
