Josef Sudek (1896 – 1976) was a Czech photographer, best known for his haunting night-scapes of Prague. His other work included many series of light falling in the interior of St. Vitus cathederal, the wooded landscape of Bohemia, and the window-glass that led to his garden.

The 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Robert Capa
October 2, 2013
Robert Capa (1913 – 1954) was a Hungarian war photographer and photo journalist. He documented the course of World War II in Europe. In 1947 Capa traveled to the Soviet Union with his friend, the American writer John Steinbeck. Steinbeck's account of their journey, A Russian Journal (1948) was illustrated with Capa's photos.
The stamp features his photograph Woman Gathering Harvest on a Farm (Ukraine, August, 1947).

Karel Plicka (1894-1987) was a distinguished photographer and film maker, noted for his creation of Czech photographic collection (Prague architecture for example) and folk genre.
The souvenir sheet includes one stamp of the portrait of Karel Plicka and two labels of a landscape and a portrait of woman.

Manuel Álvarez Bravo (1902 - 2002) was Mexico's first principal artistic photographer and is the most important figure in 20th-century Latin American photography. His photography career spanned from the late 1920s to the 1990s. His work redefined Mexican identity and employed elements to avoid stereotyping.
The commemorative features his work and his honors from the National Council for Culture and Arts.

Anders Beer Wilse (1865 – 1949) was a Norwegian photographer whose photography visually documented Norway in the early to mid-20th Century. Wilse photographed both natural scenery and people at work. Most of his 200,000 negatives are now preserved at museums.

Martín Chambi (1891 – 1973) was a photographer originally from southern Peru. He was one of the first major indigenous Latin American photographers. He was a prolific portrait photographer in the towns and countryside of the Peruvian Andes. He also made many landscape photographs which he sold mainly in the form of postcards. His work is recognized for the profound historic and ethnic documentary value.
