US Scott 2609 And 2609c | Color Error Or A Freak? An Update

Thanks for the link. Interesting read. Just found about this variety. How hard are they to find?

Not one 2609c found in a small collection of 38 off paper stamps from my wife's grandfather extras I inherited. I have another stash of my own extras I need to pull out and check next.

Dale ... the 2018 Scott CV for mint 2609 is $0.60, for mint 2609c $22.50. They simply show a dash for used CV for 2609c, indicating that while it exists they don't have enough info to set a value. Which also indicates to me that it is likely rather scarce in used condition. This is probably due, at least in part, to the length of time it took for Scott to acknowledge the variety.

They are far less common than the 2523c Toledo Brown (mint or used).
