As a buyer asking a dealer a question ,what is a reasonable time to wait for a reply until I assume he is not interested and stop sending him questions? Days ? Weeks?
Very frustrating.

A dealer; like where? A mail order dealer or a internet dealer? If they don't respond I assume they don't want my business and don't give it to them.

I would think a week.
If by email, please consider your question may be accidentally
slipping into the Trash box.

If asked once, perhaps he has just forgotten, we all do that sometimes.
I would re-try, give the benefit of the doubt.

Might depend on the question, and the dealer. I'd give a part-time dealer at least a week, to account for a cycle through his or her workweek.

If it's something like ebay and they have ongoing auctions - 24 hours max I would think. If its mail order, brick 'n mortar store or an auction house it might take some time, but try asking directly over the phone if a phone number is given. Squeaky wheels get oil.

If it's the former make sure to read the description well. I sell on ebay and there are some who ask questions that could have been answered if they read the description. I still answer those questions quickly and politely and all dealers should.

I'd say 1 to 2 business days for e-mail. Allow a little extra time for people in different time zones. If you don't get a response in 2 business days for e-mail, you should try resending the question in a different way, referring to the first. Sometimes e-mail will end up filtered to spam folders and won't be seen until the person checks. If there's a phone number, use that instead, you know you'll at least get voice mail.

It's always helpful to at least have an inquiry acknowledged, even if this is to simply ask for more time to respond fully. Modern technologies can still include good old fashioned manners.
