1872 Mexico- (my guess is that these are reprints??). No gum, look too fresh to me, but Y&T lists no reprints. I also don`t know if back should look like this.

I can look it up in my Mexico, Follansee catalog when I get home. Stamps of this era gereally overprinted regional name or numbered codes and usually not found without overprint.

Thanks in advance! I`ve found no unused on ebay (or without overprint). Paper is thin, still my second thought is that might be some kind of postal stationery cut-out (if there were any???)...

These are genuine. Because they have not been overprinted for postal use their value is much less than normal catalog value.

Thanks! One more question: were issued with or without gum?
In the meantime I`ve succeded in translating a note from Y&T:

Quote:
Pour le deux emissions (1868-72 et 1872) les timbres neufs sans surcharge ou avec No. et date seulement ne valent que la moitié.

Guess it means that mint stamps without overprint or overprinted with just the number of district and date have only half CV.
