Hi guys

Looking through my collection and came across a pane of 8 stamps, 763-764 Captain James Cook stamp. The left stamp has a blue spot above the 4 while the right stamp has none. My 2012 Unitrade does not show that variety. Does anyone else have this variety...???

I've never heard of this issue coming in a "pane" of just 8 stamps? When they were issued I remember buying panes of 50, but not 8?

The blue spot looks like a common lithographic-type non-constant variety. The Introduction to the Unitrade catalogue does note that "non-constant plate varieties" are not listed.

Sorry studystamps..that was misleading, what I meant to say was a block of 8, not a pane of 8...I stand corrected.

I am not near my albums right now, but I have quite a few of that stamp with that blue dot, but none of them are in the same place. SOmeone told me it was caused by water left on the plate after cleaning, and the type of ink used on these stamps was repelled by the water. Not sure if that is correct, but it seemed plausible.
