I believe these are French revenue stamps. And if they are revenue stamps, they won't be listed in Scott. There are specialized catalogs that list revenue stamps. No doubt someone on here will be able to elaborate and help further.

These are lovely French revenues indeed. Perhaps CJD can look them up in his Forbin.

I think there's a relatively recently published Yvert catalog on French (and colonies?) revenues. I had one at one time, but it is lost to the ages at the moment.

Honestly, most of them are very likely to be of minimal value. But someone with access to good references can check and see for you.

But don't get your hopes up too much. I'm a little concerned that you'll burn out, always hoping for a "find."

In my humble opinion, it's probably better just to enjoy the learning process, and, if you do happen to stumble upon something valuable, to enjoy the "high" from that. Otherwise, I think you will just drive yourself crazy, and probably just step away from everything in disgust and frustration at some point.

It's hard to make money at this under the best of circumstances, and especially until one has developped some experience and built up some specialized knowledge.

I posted one of these last year, and many of our members were very helpful. Check out the thread.

Not to discourage questions, UFO (we all love to answer them) but if you use the search option (top, third from right) often you can find answers you seek. This forum is a great resource.
Nice stamps by the way. I do like these.
