This is one of my specialties I collect. In most cases, when I go to different shows, I rarely find these but found this one today. It is Publibel #549 on flimsy card stock. Chimo Bujutsu

Very nice Doug.
I really like these cards.
It is also interesting to see the -10% surcharges on them too which is a spacialty all by themselves.

Old postal card covers are always so neat, and its awesome to see some from somewhere other than the US. |

Interesting, and very pretty!
What is being advertised on the first card? It looks almost like a razor blade, maybe? |

I agree new12collector. It does appear to be a razor blade. The back is entirely in French, and it is rusty.
There is a catalogue published for these by Thomasetti Ludo. To be honest, the book is expensive but there is a lot of information in it and it give a CV for all the Publibel cards in Euros. There are 2790 different cards. You might see the same design but also have to check the postage stamp / rate at the time too and this designated a different number.

i got the book out to check the CV of the card I got yesterday and this is the cover of the catalolgue. I beleieve it was published in the early 1990s but is apparently still the most current edition available (??) Chimo Bujutsu |

Here is an example of similar designs I was mentioning in my earlier post. The cachet is the same, but, the stamp / rate impression was changed from 6.50 Francs to 7.50 Francs and they were assigned #'s 2768N and #2782N respectively. Note also that there are two different meter impressions applied as well. Chimo Bujutsu |

Can you help with the distribution by year of the Publibels? It is known they've been started in 1933 and finished in 1984. I'd like to know which numbers in which year are issued. For example, numbers 520-567 are issued in 1943 and so on... |

Actually, the last Publibel Card to be issued was on January 16, 1985. You were close though <G>.
With over 2700 different patterns, it would be quite an undertaking to collate all the years. The difference lies in the different definitive postage stamp design and the face value as well. Then, there are years when the postal rates had changes and that can cause a lot of research too, plus there are some that are surcharged.
Also, a lot of the cards were published for quite a number of years with the same design, and the same postal rate.
Hope this helps anyway?

Here is the best answer I can give you. Your #550 does not exist, according to the catalog but, apparently your design refutes this claim. The time frame would be around the 1941 to 1945 era.
Your #826 was issued in 1948 and the 2 Frank designs were in use from 1959 to 1969. Exact years are not given in most instances for any given issue, but the #826 appears to have been issued either in late 1968 or early 1969.
It is possible that you have a design that needed discovering? My catalogue dates back to 2003. I will try to check further into this.
Hope this helps?
