I have stumbled upon a unique use for a number of my duplicate stamps...as place holders in the Vario pages for stamps I have not yet acquired. I just insert them face-in in the empty spaces, so I have a blank, perforated stamp-shaped filler. When the actual stamp that goes in that space is acquired, the space filler returns to my duplicate stockpile. This greatly helps in laying out the Vario pages and keeping track of needed stamps, and I think it's a more attractive alternative to sticking hand-written slips of paper.
