I have a FDC of the USA 29 cent Elvis stamp issued back in 1993. The postmark is dated January 8,1993 Memphis,TN 38101. Not an Elvis fan but thought the fdc was worthwhile addition to a musicians collection.
Then on June 16th the same year I got an FDC of the same stamp but with his last name added (this was the set which included Buddy Holly, Clyde McPhatter, Bill Haley etc...for some reason the Hank Williams FDC is dated 9th June).
USPS once announced that the most popular stamp collected since 1988 was the 1993 Elvis stamp. So the question arises... was there confusion about which Elvis they meant and there was the need to add "Presley?
