The first 3 catalog £3.25 each in the 2011 Gibbons Part 17, so they're a little better than average. The last 2 are minimal value.

Assuming they are all perf 14, look at #9N53-#9N68 at the end of the Republic of China listings in the Scott Volume 2. You will need to check watermark on some of them to make final ID.

I think the $500 on 8c will turn out to be the most valuable one among those 5 stamps.

Thank you all for your help
I guess I am resigned to the fact that Scott's is not up to the task.
I looked at "Shanghai & Nanking" but was put of by the extra (Middle)character on the left, apart from this ,it looks like they belong in the "9N41-9N71 section.
All stamps are perforated 14 and Unwatermarked.

Since they are all p14 and unwatermarked, then in the Scott catalog they would be China (ROC) #9N53, 9N54, 9N57 or 9N57a (check the uniform button), 9N55, and 9N56.

The number of characters in the left column will vary between 2 and 3 depending on the overprint denomination. It would be nice if Scott had a footnote beneath the overprint illustration.

Scott should add the advertisement of pills for a headache or Whiskey on each page of China overprint section.
