Tough for me to tell, even with high magnification. Is this a Die 1 or a Die 2? (Left 5 in detail below).

Interesting CDS format.
Would that be an Irish Pmk? CORK ?

The ID marks are non existant, I'd chance the
lesser of the two, hence Die2

My die2

Thanks for the update Rod. Title corrected. I thought it was interesting that the stamp colors were washed out right where I wanted to check for variety type. I would have been happier if it was just obliterated across that area.

My QV 5d Die 1 (left stamp) and 2 (right stamp). For anyone who is new to QV the difference is the areas to the right of the d in 5d where Die 1 has small squares and Die 2 has vertical dashes. It's actually quite noticeable under magnification.

Partime's stamp is hard to identify. Die 1 generally has clearer defined lines overall. A positive ID would be the watermark... inverted is sure to be Die 2 but that is ever more rare than a normal Die 2... but you never know

Having re-read the above I have to add that Die 2 isn't the rarer type... but you know what I mean

Standard watermark. Will notate as probably Die 2. Thanks for the excellent closeups and explanations.
