Here is an image of a stamp featuring a portrait of Marshal of the Empire Michel Ney (1769-1815), a French soldier and military commander who fought in the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars, designed by renowned Lithuanian artist Vytautas Kazimieras Jonynas (1907-1997), printed by photogravure, and issued for use in Saar on February 17, 1947, Scott No. 170, Michel No. 224, plus an image of a portrait (1804) of Marshal Ney by French painter Charles Meynier (1768-1832). - nethryk  |

Great Britain celebrates the end of the second world war with a whole set of stamps illustrating events on the 8th of May, 75 years ago today. One of them honors veterans as they walk through the streets of London. (The stamps were made from elaborately colored black-and-white photographs of the time.)  |

But the war, was actualy won by these:   And their brave leader:  What would have the USSR done without American supplies? I'm sure that Russians know how to parade; But US know how to win wars... Even if it's a cold one... |

I don't know how to learn in Spain. But in Russia we were taught that the capital of the 3rd Reich was Berlin, not Paris ... And we know and appreciate the participation of the Allies in the last year of the war, but they did not participate in the storming of Berlin... Even if it's a cold one... Northern convoys of British sailors   |
