Jon is left handed,
using the overhand tong technique,
and, extending the little finger, adds a certain "Je ne sais quoi"

Obviously, the cartoonist is a closet stamp collector.

As a kid, I remember wondering why the comic strip was called "Blondie." It was almost always about Dagwood instead.
