This morning I woke up and the first thought that entered my head was a new area of stamp collecting. Now this in itself troubles me. Usually I might think about my first cup of coffee, or what the weather is doing outside (snowing!) or, well, other things.

But this morning it was stamps. Particularly stamps that have a higher purpose other than postage. I've been looking into Christmas seals and the like lately as a part of my growing cinderella collection. And I realized that I have a bunch of these things in my stockbooks and envelopes waiting to be sold. Semi-postals, postal tax or obligatory tax stamps.
So I said to myself, self? why not start a little collection of stamps that have an addition purpose.
And self said to me, that's a pretty good idea!

So though I'm not a world wide collector per se (Canada and the US are my focal points), I have strayed and been accumulating a book of other stuff that just strikes my fancy. And this new grouping can be a crossover from the postage stamps to the cinderellas
So there you have it, I'm opening a new door and we'll see where it takes me.

Any suggestions as to what this new collection could contain would be welcome. I've got Canadian Olympic semipostals, New Zealand health stamps, Romanian Post Tax. It will be an eclectic mix to be sure.

Nope, just collect 'em.
Mount them on a page, each under a separate country of origin,
leave enough space to jot down their genesis when discovered.

Looks higglety-pigglety at the beginning,
but after a while the pages take on a character of their own,
Fascinating reading.
And thence ready for the auction, should you get bored.

Scott catalog would be very helpful. It lists all the semipostals under numbers starting with "B" ("CB" for airmail semipostals). :-)
