Although this is dated a few months ago, I don't recall seeing this previously posted so I thought SCF members might be interested in this World Record for the fastest printing of a commemorative stamp for Liechtenstein earlier in 2012:

Actually 57 minutes and 50 seconds...

The printer is based in the same street as where the exhibition was being held, which must have helped speed-up matters. As will have the police motorcycle escort from the printer to the Post Office within the show, not that I picture many traffic jams in Schaan!

Quite an achievement that will get ever harder to beat by other postal administrations after the title in the years to come.

Great story.

Quicker than I can write a letter, put it in an envelope, put a stamp on it and take it to town to be posted. Whew!

I just hope that countries such as the Grenadines etc don't catch on the idea because there were be 12 to 13 stamps issued every day and the catalogues just wouldn't be able to handle that lol.

Takes longer than that to burn 4 color plates for the press so I assume all artwork and pre press work was done ahead . It was probably all plated on the press and all they had to do was push the button and set a few registers which could be done in less than an hour.
