My local dealer had the lot below for the whopping price of US$10. Just based on quantity alone, I figured it was worthwhile. If nothing else, I'll pull out the SON cancels and maybe check for sideways watermarks. Not sure I feel like counting dots on the 1d violet.

Presumably all common crud. Anything that jumps out as worth checking?

Oooh! I see an inverted 1 1/2p KGV Silver Jubilee on page 3! That's a keeper.

I'd have bought that lot in a heartbeat. If you find some inverted watermarks in all those George V definitives, you'll be mighty glad you spent the $10. I have the new specialized Gibbons, email me if you find any, and I'll look them up for you.

Catalog value as it stands is in the hundreds of dollars.

Just one example, the 2½d. blue, watermark inverted = £75 = $120.

I don't think you will need to count the dots...on a page full of them, the difference in appearance would leap off the page (so to speak).

Barring that, take the worst one, slice it horizontally along the center of the top row of dots, and run it along the rows, comparing as you go.

[edited to say lots of fun there for $10. ]

When you talk of local dealer where you live ? Since I moved to vicinity of Los Angle in LA county I find hard to find any local dealer or stamp shops.
