So, in an attempt to mix my passion for stamp collecting and the Christmas season, I have decided to give my priest a set of 1993 Vatican City stamps. He was ordained in 1993 after his wife passed away, and I thought that would be kind of a cool gift.

Since he's not a stamp collector, I want to make sure the pages have descriptions, so he can get some enjoyment out of the stamps. I have already found someone on ebay and another on Bidstart with White Ace album pages for Vatican City from 1993. I think that may be the way to go, since I get some really artistic pages along with descriptions.

So, two questions here:

1. Are there other pages that have descriptions that I should be considering for my endeavor?

2. What is the best way to present them? If I could get good UV protective glass, I would consider some type of frame. I don't know if I want to go the binder route, since it seems silly to use a binder for what will amount to about 3-4 pages.

Dos anyone have any other ideas of the best ways to present the stamps?

I would simply give him the White Ace pages, caution him about displaying them in sunlight or fluorescent light, and let him decide what to do with them. If you're going to hand them to him, put them in a heavy-duty cardboard protector/mailer of some kind.

Non-stamp collectors are unpredictable, and, he may not like your frame.

I have decided to wait a little longer and give it to him as a gift on the day he was ordained, rather than rush this a week before Christmas. Perhaps a set of Vatican coins and paper currency from the same year to complete the set. We'll see.

Vatican cranks out a LOT of souvenir everything, so you have plenty to choose from. Be cautious of anything over 5 years old, as often the backing paper is acidic and has discolored the collectibles.
