ebay Sales Traffic 17th Dec To End Jan 2013. What happens with selling for us over this period. Is it going to be as slow as like a normal stamp shop over this period.

Have our normal listings in place. The same as other months. Mostly items to $10

Have listed some extra items from $15 to $30.

Have listed two expensive extra items.

1st item $699 listed as an auction and it has 2 bids on it, 17 watches & 128 views. It ends tomorrow.

2nd item $499 listed buy it now with no bids, 1 watcher, 9 views ends next Sunday.

For the stamp auctioned it is a reasonable out come. Was hoping for something around $850 but we are happy.

It is a good thing I listed that stamp as sale numbers are slow so far this side of Christmas.

I am not that ebay experienced outside what I know because of repetition.

I have noticed the Basic ebay Store and other ebay like on-line auctions have a flat type store page design. Has that tile, like look with the way the listings are set out on the store pages.

We went with the Store type Featured with the pro-manager because we have a need to list 300 to 500 listings per week. The Featured store look, is much better than the cheaper stores and other on-line auction sites in our opinion.

It would be great to go somewhere and find out about all the little bits and pieces that make listing easier. All the listing become very repetitious. Even if there is a 1,000 different listings. So I am finding myself doing the same listings many times over in the last 2 years. What took me 4hrs to list now takes me 1 hr. Huge time difference. That is what a bit of experience makes.

We spend a lot of time trying to get the best scans but it does happen very quickly and some of the scans can be a little out of square. Getting a title description design that looks good and gives the buyer the best info in the correct order has taken the best part of 2 years to do and I am always looking for a better way to describe this and that.




That is a very nice comment for me Rod. I have tried very hard to do just that.

So far this week the income has equaled the 1st 6 months fees for our youngest adult daughter. You should of seen her face when my wife told her that she has reached the minimum requirement financially to start her course.

I know very little about ebay, but what about Turbo Lister?
Also for deskewing images, Picasa (FREE) works a treat.

I think I am using Turbo Lister! It just comes with the store but I really do not truly know.

Help Please. Can anybody explain how and what of a Turbo Lister?

Rod the scanning of images for listing is as easy as so long as the scan size is not over 15cm x 15cm 600 dpi can be used. Over that size the ebay image upload chocks and the dpi needs to be dropped to 400.

Using photobucket, like I use for SCF does not work on ebay.

To list an image is very quick and easy on ebay. Where the image is uploaded there is cropping, turning and light-dark adjusting tools.

For me it takes about 20% of the time to list an image on ebay than on our SCF. It is straight into my pitures and then straight into the image listing area on ebay. Once the file is selected it stays open for image listings or for the days listings.

who was doing similar to you, but FDC's.
She mentioned she used Turbo Lister, apparently as a template
when listing items of similar format, reduced typing keystrokes.
This term may have changed since then.

I think I understand Turbo Lister now.

If I go flat out I can do a complete listing in under 1 minute.

And all the settings stay the same for the next listing so all I need to do is change the title description, image and price.

So I am using the previous listing as a template or bring up a listing from the past for the same need.

I will also "sell similar" from the sold area and just change a image and then list it.

If someone wants to have a go at listing stamps on ebay they can practice 1st. So long as you do not press the "submit listing" button. The listing will not happen. You just click on to something else to close out the listing window.

By doing this you can learn to do select your stamp category, putting together a title description, posting an image, pressing the gallery image option, pricing your stamp, select auction & or buy it now options, mailing costs, where you will mail to and by pressing continue you will see the 2nd page and your selections and the full detailed cost of your item and the cost to sell your stamp.

But if you continue and press the "submit listing" button your practice will be finished and you will have a listed item. If you close the listing window by clicking on something else your listing practice will just disappear.

Be brave have a go.

Sales have slowed to a point that they are covering costs only.

Nothing left over for the work put into it all.

We are very grateful we are not going backwards.

International buyer are keeping us afloat.

Many sales are for around $1.50 but have mailing cost of approx $2.70 .
This is the 1st time we have been hit hard in this way. These buyers still get 1st class treatment. But then from the same Countries others are buying many lot at the one time.

Boxing Day (and it has tonight to go) has seen a good number of lot sell from $5 to $20 to Australians. Today has seen the strongest sales since 3 weeks before Christmas.

It will be interesting to see what happens from now till the end of the weekend.

It really is one day at a time.

Christmas Day I did not list or relist. Today I have relisted only. Tomorrow it is back to normal. All the lots are prepared and scanned ready to go. But I have a strong feeling I will be patching lots together to list tomorrow because of buyers outside of Australia and Australia buying tonight. We have a lot of interesting and better items on offer for Thursdays. It has become consistently one of our better days.

Nothing (no sales) for 27th Dec to 29th Dec. Lost cost of listings.

The 30th Dec has seen high sales numbers and over all we are now in front again.

So far next year we will only be relisting starting the week before Christmas, to the end of New Year.

Things are still very slow. All cost are being covered & a bit more.

But we are getting a lot of "lookers" so by having something that looks interesting, has got to be good advertising.

Things are still very slow. All costs are being covered and over the last 4 weeks, $136 in profit has been made only. Normally it is more than that with an extra 0 on the end of that figure per month.

The plan for the end of this year is a week before Christmas to have 500 to 700 "buy it now" listings for a 30 day time option and just do the few orders that come our way. 30 day listings will reduce listing costs as well.

It is truly amazing how much quality stock we have for this year and are hoping for bigger things to happen with our sales.

We have an updated marketing plan and we will start to roll it out over February. One day, each week of February we will be listing new stock with a new marketing plan.

All our stock targets will be met by the end of February. We are very happy about this. Our 3rd year apprenticeship looks like having a great start to the year.

We are thinking February will have slow sales but not as slow as January. March has been a very good month for us and we are looking forward to it.
