Hi everyone!
I am new here, so I hope this question falls in the right thread. I was wondering opinions on the best way to see a watermark. I did not know if it is worth investing in a signoscope or something alone those lines or is it better to stick to the fluid? I appreciate any thoughts. I hate to spend a bunch of money if it isn't necessary. Thanks

Hi waltini,

I have been exploring this issue recently (I am also a beginner at watermarking). I have a recent thread covering fluids here: https://goscf.com/t/29155 which I will be adding to over the Christmas holidays.

I tried the signoscope and a rollatector before I ever tried watermark fluid. I like the watermark fluid the best but I am trying to perfect/learn to use lighter fluid as it is by far the cheapest.

Thanks so much! I am going to read your thread. I was nervous to try the lighter fluid. I appreciate your input. I am worried about ruining a stamp, but I also don't want to spend a bunch of money if I don't have to. I am going to get the watermark fluid and give it a go. Happy Stamping!

I have been coveting a signoscope for years,
they appear to be very good, if price is any indication.
I have yet to win one at auction.

I just tried the lighter fluid technique. It worked like a charm. It was pretty exciting!
