The first item in this thread showed the three basic values (repeated here). Also shown here (provided by a friend) are the other five values available prior to the January 14 rate change...

Could you ask the attendant if the machine can prepare labels for over-sized mail to the US or international destinations. In other words will it print a $15.20 label .If so then a complete collection would be greater than seven labels shown so far.

As I noted earlier in this thread, I know a collector who had 3 complete sets made up; 2 of these were made for someone else and the 3rd was kept by him.

I do not have the complete set of initial 8 values (just the basic 3).

Wow I avoided the whole post since I have no interest in computer vended stamps but after reading all this I wish I had paid attention.
Just a side note and likley these will be the reason in the long run. Here in Lasalle we had 3 postal outlets -one macs milk convenience store, one Home Hardware and 1 shoppers drug mart- now we just have the 1 shoppers. Plus recent news states CP will be closing the old Sandwich postal center plus laying off 80+ employees at the windsor sorting center and sending everything to Londons facility. Not saying this is all due to the vending machines but I imagine they will be more prevelant as the year progresses.

I know of a collector who took the time to get three complete sets. It takes forever to get the five 'odd' values as only single stamps can be dispensed after measuring and weighing each piece of mail

Studystamps, do you know if you have to pay after each of these "odd" value transactions? If so, that would take forever, especially if you wanted more than one of each value.

When I tried the broken machine in Vancouver, after requesting 10 of the basic 61c value, it asked me to pay right away. Then came the error meassage .

My understanding is that you must pay after three (3) transactions. Here are 2 scenarios...

Order A. for the 'basic' 3 values you can order from 1-25 of each value; you could order:

* 10 x 61c
* 15 x $1.05
* 5 x $1.80

That is 3 transactions so you must pay.

Order B. for the other 5 values you can only get 1 stamp after weighing and measuring your piece of mail. So, you could order:

* 1 x $1.29
* 1 x $3.40
* 1 x $3.65

That is 3 transactions so you must pay.

----

To get the 3 full sets as mentioned earlier in this thread, that would take 6 separate orders of 3 transactions each. Thus, 6 payments. It would take forever, I would think (particularly the weighing and measuring, etc.)

Thanks Studystamps. I plan on trying again in Vancouver in a couple of weeks. I think though, I will stick to collecting the three basic values.

Yesterday I asked this:

"Could you ask the attendant if the machine can prepare labels for over-sized mail to the US or international destinations. In other words will it print a $15.20 label .If so then a complete collection would be greater than seven labels shown so far."

Did you try to get labels for over-sized mail to the U.S. or is the ONLY denomination to the U.S. the basic letter rate, $1.10.
