You might try one of the libraries in a suburb near yours. You can find out online which ones have Scott's Catalogs and what year they are. The parking would be easier and you could still browse.
We are lucky enough to have a library not too far away that has at least one - and lately - two consecutive years of the Scott Catalogs - complete sets. I can often get the volume I want.
Step 2 - I received a Canada Unitrade catalog as a Christmas gift two Christmases ago, so I am pretty set with that for a while.
Now, I am slowly building a set by buying one catalog that is one year out of date catalogs at a discount at stamp shows.
So I now have a 2009, 2010 and 2011 of various volumes.
I know they are out of date, but I am primarly using them for stamps of 19th and 20th centuries, so it's working for me.
