Belgium 1892 and France 1883 covers with clear postmarks on the stamps. Opinions and feed backs appreciated. Thanks.

For Belgium, I believe that the cancellation originated from office #5. Because it is a large city, there were and are several post offices within it and, this was one way to identify where it was sent from.

They are not particularly rare and normally sell for a few dollars. I have some of these stamps on cover in my collection as well.

Can't help you much on France.

Hope this helps?

Hi Selva,

The Paris postmark appears to be from the post office in Rue Milton.

Both covers are international - one to Brunswick in Germany and the other to Nyon in Switzerland - are there any arrival markings on the back?

Hi Selva,

Thanks for posting these. It's often interesting what you find on the back.

That's a nice clear Brunswick arrival mark. It didn't take long to get there! The arrival is between 11am and 12 noon the day after it was sent from Paris.

The other cover also has a Swiss railway "travelling post office" AMBULANT postmark.
