Hello! My Mother just found 4 books, each showing first edition Canadian Stamps (each on their own postcard from the Postal Service, each with correlating photo of something relating to each stamp, each in it's own plastic sleeve), spanning 11 years (1972-1982

looks like 90 postcards per book. I am trying to upload some pictures, but first was curious, are these of any value?
We have no experience or knowledge of stamps...
Thanks for the help, Julie

Hi Julie and welcome to the Stamp Community. It looks like you have found a collection of what is known as First Day Covers. These are envelopes (or postcards) that have the stamp and a special cancellation commemorating that it was mailed on the first day that the stamp was available for use. Not a lot of value, as the newer ones are worth about twice the value of the stamp on each. However, they look great in anyone's collection. Hopefully, this will spark some interest in collecting other areas.

Glad to have you on board.

Sadly FDC's are lucky to fetch 20-50cents each depending on qty. There are a few exceptions but not many. Personally I have over 1000 and love em.
