Is there a US Hudson Fulton celebration (Scott 372, 1909) pre-cancel ?

i don't know..i would have to go through every town in every state in the precancel catalog !!

A few have been made by collectors since 1940, but these are the 'legitimate' items.

In 25 years of precancel collecting I have found three of them.
The Hanover New Hapshire precancel is the famous 'DART - MOUTH' design showing a dart and a mouth. If someone were to "make an offer I could not refuse" it would be 100$ per stamp.

I was looking through some old precancel posts and found this - the new PSS Classic Catalogs has prices for these 4.
Phila: 7.50 Benton 3.00 Hanover 15.00 Springfield 4.00
Not as high as I would have expected, in some cases below Scotts. This shows what nice [and scarce] stamps you can buy at reasonable prices when you collect precancels.

who makes up some of these catalog prices? I guess its hard to price something you dont really see changing hands.

Phil Cayford did all the pricing for the PSS Classics catalogs [a very big job]. Phil sells more precancels than anybody in the world. He tries to make things affordable. ebay has energized all precancel prices to the amazement of all. If two or more collectors want a scarce item, toss out the catalog.
