Does anyone know what kind of Gum they used on the 1800's Monaco Prince Charles Stamps ? For the life of me I'm having a difficult time telling if the few I have ar MNG or full original gum.

This one is really hard to tell due to the offset / setoff on back. If I hold it at an angle I can see a shiny coat that certainly looks like gum.

Hi,
Wouldn't the fact it is 'recto verso' invalidate the question?
I know it may not be listed in general catalogues but in Y+T or Maury it will be and they are usually a good few times more valuable than MNH.

If you think about it, turn the stamp over and picture it laying on top of another sheet. Do you happen to know what kind of Gum they used on these and the characteristics of it ?

Isn't that recto verso?
I don't think it is the gum that is the issue but the printers laying the sheets on top of each other when still wet.
Michel lists gum varieties for German stamps but I'll have to check for Monaco.

Sorry Anthony, I just realized we are saying the same thing. My question regarding the Gum on these is that it seems different from all others I've seen. I have a few of the Prince Charles issues and I have a tough time with the Gum on each one.

No problem and absolutely no need to apologise.
My solution to gum differences is to only collect used
I'll check Michel later and see if anything is mentioned.
