Hi All,
This stamp has me stumped. I've seen pictures of it on the Turkish ebay, but could not glean any information from the listings.

Does anybody have any info on it? I'm not sure it's even a postage stamp, although, according to Google Translate, "pulu" means stamp. Google strikes out with "tayyare."

Thanks, Robert

Edit: Re-uploaded correct image.

Hi Robert,

"Tayyare pulu" means aeroplane stamp.

This was from a Turkish government issue from 1935 sold to collect money for the air force. It had no postal validity.

In earlier years Turkey issued similar air fund issues as obligatory postal tax stamps.
