I need help. I bought a used Compaq Presario Laptop. The previous owner deleted or uninstalled the email program. It has windows seven installed but I didn't get any disk with it. I am trying to log onto SCF but have forgotten my Password. I can get to the web site but can't log on. Can an Administrator send me VIA my email program my password so I can log on. I will eventually find someone to reinstall Outlook Express so I can get email on the Laptop but for right now I just want to log onto the SCF website. Thanks in Advance for your help. My Desktop stays Logged on all the time . That is why I don't know my password.

Alas! It happens to me all the time. I have to write them down on a reference card and the card gets larger and larger every month. So, they are no-longer secret anymore, as the pass words supposed to be.

My computer repairman told me it is safe to keep a list of Passwords in a Word document, with an icon on the Desktop, provided you do the following: Pick four characters that do NOT appear in your Passwords and sprinkle them randomly through each one. Maybe j, k, 8, $, something like that.

Then, in a pinch, you have all your passwords, but it may take a moment to "compose" the proper version. Cynics will complain that you will forget the four characters...

Supposedly Outlook Express doesn't work with Vista or 7:

Is Office installed? Maybe the full Outlook is on there?

Check the other post on Outlook Express, Tinman. I gave a summation on changing your password. The Admin cannot send you your old password.

Thanks everyone. I AM SUCCESSFULLY LOGGED ON USING THE LAPTOP. The Desktop is also currently logged on also.
Thanks again. Now just to get the email up and running for my wife. I'll work on that tomorrow.
