Can anyone tell me how I can get Outlook Express downloaded off the web. I don't have the disk or a product key. Microsoft Office is installed but someone took Outlook express off the Laptop I just bought. I don't have an email program now. I can however access Internet explorer.

If you're posting this message, aren't you logged on?

Too many posts are creating confusion.

If you have MS Office installed, you have Outlook installed. Outlook pulls email via pop3 the same way Outlook express does. The user interface is a little different but you should be able to transition just fine. Use Outlook and forget about Outlook Express.

The question I have ... what about your old email? Outlook and Outlook express stores your email in an encrypted file on your computer. Did you have old email that needed to be moved to your new laptop?

Read above carefully Riley. Key word is Laptop. I am on my Desktop. I also am running an I MAC for my Desktop and the Laptop is a PC. So I am not very Familiar with the PC since I haven't had a PC for about four years.. The guy I bought the Laptop from somehow left 667 emails unread in something? I just looked and a couple of them had his Bank account Numbers in it. I will delete all his stuff he left behind. Right now I'm afraid to change windows in fear of losing whatever it is I have?

What is the operating system on the laptop? Outlook Express isn't available in Windows Vista or Windows 7. If one of those is your OS you can install an e-mail program from another company (for example the internet-based Gmail) or you can use Windows Live Mail which is a free program that is part of Windows Live Essential.

Steve the Operating system is Windows 7. No wonder I couldn't find "Outlook Express" I still am going to have to wait for someone to help me set it up. I have Charter and my MAC just has "Mail" I suppose that's Apples email program. My Son set it up for me when it was new. I've had my MAC four or Five years and have not had even "ONE" problem with it. I hope the PC is just as good. I am not Computer Savy. You can call me if your throat is any better and you feel like talking. If not. I completely understand.I just checked he is using "Windows Live Mail" I am at the window that is his LOG in. HIs user name is on there but obviously not his password.

Depending on your internet provider you should be able to call them and say you have new/used laptop but need email set up. Most can remote access your system and will take control for a few minutes to do what needs to be done. My wifes laptop is win7 with a slightly older version of office 07 and office comes with outlook and is really the same as express +/- a few features. Not sure about office 2010 but usually a trial version only will come along with WIN7. Not a big advocate or trial versions or torrents but you can get office 2007 with serial from a torrent site (be careful) that will have outlook and do everything you need. Best bet is let your provider do all the work for you as I'm sure win 7 has an email client somewhere in there.

Good Idea Nitro. I will call my provider. I am still hoping SCF can send me my password though.

For security reasons, most software packages that have authentication do not allow the administrators to see passwords. The administrator can delete or reset your password upon request, but not view it.

Here's how to reset your password. At the top of the SCF page, just below the login, there is a link titled "Forgot your password?". Click that, and follow the steps to reset your password. You will not see this link on your PC because you're already logged in. Bring up the SCF website on your laptop, then follow these steps.

Good luck!

You could try Thunderbird. It's free, and I like it better than Outlook for simple mail services (meaning no calendar, task lists, etc.).

Thanks everyone. I AM SUCCESSFULLY LOGGED ON USING THE LAPTOP. The Desktop is also currently logged on also.
Thanks again. Now just to get the email up and running for my wife. I'll work on that tomorrow.
