Hi Timm,

This is a strange overprint. It's very similar to the Ukrainian "courier field post" overprints on these stamps except they have Ukrainian overprints in Cyrillic.

This looks similar but appears to be in Polish ("kurierska" is a Polish word for courier) but still with the Ukrainian hryvni currency.

The other thing that is odd to me is the value. 80h is double the highest value in the Ukraine courier field post issues.

If it is legitimate, could it be non-postal in nature? Telegraph, parcel, consular service?

By the way, 40h was the registered mail rate. Apparently the 10h was for official mail, and the 20h was for regular mail.

As always, corrections welcome.

Makes sense. The Polish army overprinted with Polish currency values supplies of Ukrainian stamps captured in the ethnically Polish areas of Ukraine during the Polish-Ukrainian War. Whether they were ever actually authorised, let alone postally used, is another question.

I suspect these are bogus. I wonder if "poszta" is/was a valid alternative spelling to "poczta"?
