I came across this U.S. postal card from 1986 depicting a stamp collecting theme (Scott 110) and saw that the annotation in the catalog said that the USPS sold the card at "Najubria 86," in Germany, with a show cachet.

A search of the forum on "show cachet" revealed that there hasn't been a thread specifically devoted to show cachets so I thought I'd start one here and see if it gained any traction (originally posted in the Topical forum--60 views but no additions).

My first, and practically-speaking, only stamp club membership was in the Eastern Prince William Stamp Club (Prince William County, VA) in the early 1980s while I was stationed at Quantico. Below is the show cover from Princepex '82, the first philatelic exhibition that I ever attended. Sadly, the club is no longer in existence.

The Najubria show cachet (on this card) is actually listed in the Scott Specialized; in 2008, the catalog value was $6. It is not a first-day item, as the card was issued in May 1986.

I just received this today in a lot of postal cards purchased on ebay. The card was issued on June 14, 1987 and is Scott UX117. The UX117 was sold by the USPS at Cologne, Germany, with a cachet for Philatelia '87.

Just found in my box of "not so much interested" stuff.
A Hungarian FDC of the stamp commemorating the Hungarian stamp exhibition in Tokyo 1986 with a regular Japanese stamp cancelled with a commemorative postmark (Yoyogi post office, Tokyo) of the same exhibition.

Ok, how about a commemorative postcard from the Rubber City Stamp Club, circa 1965, with one of my favorite subjects, the USS Macon on the other side.

Nells250.

I'm sorry I didn't buy one from you as I was heading out the door. I had just spent my last dollar two minutes earlier!
