Have this Australia KGV unused and without gum. Have been trying to identify the inverted o/p but unsuccessful. Looking for help to identify especially those Australian collectors familiar with Australia o/p. Inputs and feed backs very appreciated. Thanks.

It's not an overprint, just remnants of a cancellation.

Just a guess, but, I think it is a marker used for fiscal use that maybe was used as a form of a receipt, possibly on a cheque (check) (?)

Always thought that the cancel was from being apart of a news paper wrapper.

But thought gets me into a lot of trouble.

It is definitely a used stamp!
