Many thanks to those here who helped me learn to make good scans. I was really lost. This is probably my favorite set in my collection. Engraving is a lost and unsung art form that is easy to view with stamps and a strong magnifier. I consider these engravings to be the best. You won't find the names of those who engrave stamps often I don't think, and that is sad. So I looked these guys up, whoever they were, and for whatever it's worth.

Engravers:
Scott 740 - 1¢ El Capitan at Yosemite - J. C. Benzing
Scott 741 - 2¢ The Grand Canyon - L. S. Schofield
Scott 742 - 3¢ Mirror Lake at Mount Rainier - J. C. Benzing
Scott 743 - 4¢ Cliff Palace at Mesa Verde - C. T. Arlt
Scott 744 - 5¢ Old Faithful Geyser at Yellowstone - C. T. Arlt
Scott 745 - 6¢ Wizard Island at Crater Lake - L. S. Schofield
Scott 746 - 7¢ "The Great Head" at Bar Harbor - J. C. Benzing
Scott 747 - 8¢ "The Great White Throne" at Zion - C. T. Arlt
Scott 748 - 9¢ Mount Rockwell at Glacier - C. T. Arlt
Scott 749 - 10¢ The Great Smoky Mountains - L. S. Schofield

Nice stamps.

You know, I never noticed it before until reviewing your large scans, but the 9-cent Glacier stamp has a very unique way of inserting the "O" in "POSTAGE" ... sort of at an angle. A bit unusual looking, but probably just another case of artistic license by the designer, I suppose.

Great Display I Brake For Stamps. Good observation on the "O" wt1. I noticed it before in my own collection but didn't pay any attention to it. Really neat though.

The designs and the engraving are superbly done. I am a photographer; these are more beautiful than photographs.

To my horror, I have found that my set is not complete. I saw that there is at least one other imperf out there.

Thanks to all who viewed , and for the nice comments.

Thanks so much for the info I Brake For Stamps and Russ. My imperforate, ungummed set of these is a real favorite of mine. It's nice that you guys took the time to identify the previously unknown artists (at least to me) whose work I've spent an incredible amount of time admiring.

All the values of the Parks set come both perf and imperf plus there are souvenir sheets of the one and three cent. The imperfs were issued ungummed but collectors with full sheets could send them to the BEP for gumming, so they do exist gummed.
