This stamp belongs to a set of 5 stamps, under the theme 'Paintings'.
This 'gallo' was painted by the cuban artist Mariano Rodriguez (1912-1990), that created another works with the theme 'rooster'.

This stamp from the U.S.S.R.'s 1956 set of 10 "Agriculture" stamps shows a woman feeding chickens at a collective farm.

One of the 400 won stamps (Sc #1728) in the Republic of Korea's 1993-5 definitive set depicts a glazed, ceramic chicken.

Here's that 1948 US chicken stamp on a 1953 cover, sent by a guy who raises pedigreed black minorcas



...and this is a black minorca.
